Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Mommy and daddy decided not to travel anywhere this year so we had Thanksgiving at our house. Two of daddy's friends from work came over and one of our family friends, Glenda, came too. Daddy made a Honey Brine Smoked Turkey on The Big Green Egg and he made Chipotle Sweet Potatoes. Mommy made Oyster Dressing and Green Beans with Caramelized Onions and pine nuts. Then for desert we had Pecan Pie and Pumpkin Cheesecake. Very Tasty!!! Mommy forgot to take pictures until after we were done eating so you'll have to take my word for it that everything was very nice.

So mommy got a new camera and has started taking more pictures again. Her old camera died so she gave it to me to play with. Here is my first shoot behind the lense....

Here are some pictures of me playing in the yard...

Daddy went hunting after Thanksgiving and he brought home a deer!! I think we're having venison tonight...I've never had it but mommy and daddy both say it's very good.

While daddy was gone, we had a great time. Mommy had the firetrucks come to our house to see me! They put their sirens on and everything! We could hear them before they even got to our neighborhood! Mommy says she called them because the house filled up with smoke since mommy started a fire in the fireplace and didn't realize that daddy had closed the flue (did I spell that right?). But I know she just doesn't want me to think I'm spoiled. I know they really came to see me. I have such a great mommy to go through so much trouble just so I can sit in a firetruck and see real firemen. The only bad part was that the batteries were dead in mommy's camera so I have no proof. I guess we'll just have to have them over again some day...they were really nice.

Here's some pictures of me getting dressed up for dinner and to go see Christmas Lights. I was supposed to see Santa but the line was really long and I was really hungry. So mommy said we could see Santa another day.

Mommy gave me an early Christmas present and bought me Choo Choo Jammies! Here I am making scrambled eggs in my new PJs.

Not too much else going on....I'm still doing really good on the potty. Going #1 and #2. I just haven't quite mastered telling mommy and daddy EVERY TIME I need to go. I still rely mostly on mommy to tell me when I need to go. But mommy says it's early yet and that I'm doing a really good job.

I hope everyone has a good week! Stay tuned for pictures from decorating our tree!

Happy Halloween!

Mommy and daddy took me trick or treating for the first time last night....wow, that was a lot of fun. After we went to all the houses we knew, we came back to our house and sat on the porch handing out candy to other kids. Daddy took pictures so here they are.

I love Cousins!

Hi everyone. Guess where I've been? Atlanta!! (Mommy says before anyone gets mad because she didn't call, please read through and consider the level of difficulty she was under...please be forgiving)
Mommy had a business trip to go on and daddy was already out of town so she packed me up and took me to Aunt Caroline! Mommy says she was a God send. I spent two whole days with Aunt Caroline, Carter and Caitie. I got to spend time with Uncle Cary while I was there too.
Here are some pictures from my trip. We flew into town on a big airplane (with a broken suitcase, carseat, mommy's laptop, my Thomas bag and a stroller). Here's me sitting in my own seat (I'm 2 now, so I get my own seat...that's what big boys do...they sit in their own seat with their seat belt on. If they don't, then the man flying the plane won't let them stay on and they have to go home).

Then mommy took me on a choo choo train to meet Uncle Cary (she called it Marta...but it looked like a fancy choo to me). Here's a picture of me looking out the window. We rode from one end of the line to the other, just like Thomas in my book "Stop Train, Stop"

When we finally got there, Uncle Cary helped us with our bags and took us to his house. Mommy left later that night for Jacksonville, FL. While mommy was on a plane, I took a bubble bath with Carter and Caitie. I LOVE bubbles! (mommy said she wished that she had a bubble bath...she didn't get to her hotel until 11:30 at night and then she had to wake up at 5:45! She might as well have stayed with me! Even I sleep later than that - most of the time. Oh yeah, she said it was a really nice room, on the water...too bad she didn't have time to enjoy it)

The next day mommy flew from Jacksonville to Philidelphia, then drove to Delaware (she said she didn't get to her hotel until 12:30 at night - but it was a really fluffy bed). While mommy was flying, I was trying on Carter's shoes....they almost fit! I also played with lots of legos.
Late that night, after a 3 hour delay, mommy finally made it back to Uncle Cary's house (2:00 in the morning to be exact). She snuck in the bed with me and when I woke up the next morning, there she was!
Carter and Caitie were so much fun. They taught me a lot too. Mommy said I learned about a 100 words over night. They even showed me how to eat my trees, I mean broccoli. They also have a really cool dog. Her name is Rigley. She's a great big GoldenDoodle. Mommy tried to take a picture of her but her camera goofed...she put it out here anyway so you could see how cute she is. She's still a puppy.
On Sunday, we went to church, then left to go home on the big airplane. Mommy said that a really cool perk of traveling with me was getting to go to the front of the security line with the stroller, which was a mile long. Who knew there was a perk to traveling with me? Right before we got on the plane, I decided to pee pee in the potty! Right there in the airport! I love weird pottys... I've been doing pretty good since I got home too.

That's about all I have to share now. I really miss Carter and Caitie and ask mommy about them almost as much as I ask about daddy. I hope to see somebody besides mommy soon...

Fall is here! (well, kind of)

Hi everyone. Lots of things have happened since I wrote last. I have a new big boy bed, my Papa Mac came to visit, and I went to the pumpkin patch with my school!

I'm talking a lot more now, putting two and three words together. Mommy says it still resembles a martian language but she and daddy now speak martian so it's ok. I'm not sure what that means, but she seems pretty happy. I can recognize some letters and I can count to 3 by myself and 20 with mommy's help. Probably higher than that...but mommy stopped counting.

Here are some pictures of daddy helping me build my big boy bed. They shopped all over the place and decided it would be cheaper for daddy to build me a bed. Mommy just realized that she forgot to take a picture of the final product...we'll post that later.

Measure twice, cut once...that's what daddy says...

Hard work requires a break.... wheeee!!
Mommy was too big of a wimp to help daddy up the stairs with the bed, so it was up to me.

Well mommy and daddy went to a sail boat show and Papa Mac came out to stay with me for a few days. We had a great time! I stayed home from school and we played in the yard, went to the grocery store, made dinner, and a gazillion other cool things. I did fall off my bed and scare Papa with all of my blood...mommy was secretly glad she wasn't here...she said Papa probably handled it way better than she would have. Mommy and daddy had the camera with them so I don't have any pictures of me and Papa this time....

Here are some pictures from my field trip to the pumpkin patch with my school. Mommy took the morning off and went with me. We had a lot of fun!
Here we are on the Hay Ride.
Goats....pew wee
Me and my friend Noah looking at the chickens.
They had a rock climbing wall to get up to the slide...I'm getting quite good at this.
I went down the BIG slide with the tunnel!!! Yeah!!!
My friend actually picked up the chicken before I could get to it. Here he is letting me pet it.
More chickens....

Here I am with my friend Cam on the Tractor. This was one of the highlights of the day!
We finished up the trip by all playing on the hay stacks!

I hope everyone is doing well. Mommy and I are leaving on an airplane tomorrow to go to Atlanta. I'm really excited. I'm going to stay with my Aunt Caroline while mommy goes on a business trip (Daddy is galavanting around in Key West again). I get to play with Carter and Caitie and their dog Rigley. I should have lots of pictures to show next time.

Surprise!

Mommy thought she would blow your socks off and publish two posts in one night! Get up off the floor and read on...this one is good...
It's my birthday!!! (Aunt Shannon, do you like my shirt?)
Mommy and Gigi made me the coolest cake! Mommy is really impressed with herself and Gigi so she doesn't mind tooting her own horn...take a look... (by the way, it only looks like mommy is blowing my candle out...I did it all by myself, she is just showing me what to do).
If you can't tell...there was a theme to my party...TRUCKS!!!!

Mommy tried to get me to open my presents but me and my friend Koz were way into cutting the grass...I decided to let her open them all and then tell me which ones she liked best. I especially like my choo choo trains...they're classic.

Gigi and Papa got to take me to the zoo to feed the giraffes with Mr. Jody again. Mommy forgot to take pictures (maybe it was because the giraffe slobbered on her and it threw her game off) so she took this one of us while we were looking at the elephants.

Well stay tuned for more (but not tonight)...big boy bed (also not tonight), potty training, and animal noises...
Have a good week!

Summer is coming to an end...

...but I can't tell. It's still hot outside and only occasionally does mommy make me wear shoes. I'm doing really good now...my words are getting much clearer and I'm putting two words together. I know some of my colors and most of my shapes. I can point out letters in my Pirate alphabet book mommy bought me (this really surprised mommy and daddy...they weren't sure exactly what I was doing all day in my day care).

I've also started potty training as you can see in this picture (I'm multi-tasking...something mommy says boys can't do) but mommy says that's a story for another day...

We had dress up day at school where you could dress up like a princess or an animal. I was supposed to be a monkey but mommy said I looked more like a dog so she put a nose on me...She's not very crafty, but she did the best she knew how :)

These are pictures of me with my lawnmower. I love to cut grass with mommy and daddy (yes, mommy cuts the grass...but only when daddy is gone for a really long time). I sometimes have to turn over my lawnmower to fix it and sometimes I have to check the gas...if it gets too low, I have to fill it up. Having your very own lawnmower is a lot of responsibility. You shouldn't get one unless you have time to keep up with the maintenance.

Here are probably the last water pictures you'll see of the season...it looks like our hot days are coming to an end pretty soon. My friend Dylan is a lucky duck and has her own pool. That's where I am in this next picture. I had my swimmies on and mommy threw me off the diving board (I asked her to) and daddy caught me as I came out of the water. Yep, they let me go under...this is how they know I can hold my breath! I love doing this...then I get to swim to the side and climb up the ladder.

Here are some pictures of me and Dylan at the water fountains at the Botanical Gardens. It was Dylan's first time going so I had to show her how to run through it and get really wet. It didn't take her long...she's a natural.

Here we are sitting together on the Butterfly sculpture.

My first ear of corn...yumm.

Well, now that mommy's got her very own card reader (thanks daddy), she'll be able to get back to her schedule on updating this blog. So...we're keeping them kind of short this time to keep you coming back.
I hope everyone has a great week!
