Happy Saturday!

Hi there. Mommy had a few extra pictures she wanted me to share with everyone. We're doing real well. I spend most of my time playing with my new toys. Mommy is taking me somewhere exciting today but she hasn't told me where yet, while daddy tills up the back yard. He has some grass being delivered on Monday. He says he's tried to grow it 3 years in a row and he gives up.

Here's a picture me, mommy and chili dog on our new, FINISHED, back deck. That's right. Daddy finished it and boy is it nice! Hard...but nice. Speaking of hard, he worked really hard. Mommy will take a picture of the whole thing so you can get a better idea of how much work it really was.

Here's mommy helping me walk on the back deck in my new shoes!

Here's me playing in the box that Grammie sent all my gifts in while wearing the new Nemo jammies that Aunt Shannon and Uncle Colby sent me. They fit me really good and have been keeping me warm since the nights are getting colder!

Here's one last picture. Mommy knows it's blurry but thought it was so cute that she made me put it on here (despite the fact that daddy will probably not approve, him being a photographer and all...but mommy says when he takes the pictures he can choose what goes on here...whatever that means)

Speaking of daddy taking pictures... I think he finally got scared of mommy and printed out the pictures he took earlier this summer. If he can just remember to bring them home, mommy will mail them out to everyone. I have to say, they highlight some of my cuter moments :)

Have a good weekend!

My First Birthday!!

I had my first birthday this past week!! Mommy says she can't believe she and daddy kept me alive for a whole year.

My friend Eli (from Georgia) came to visit me and stayed for my birthday party on Saturday. We had a lot of fun. I got lots of toys...mommy says it looked like a toy bomb went off in our living room.

We ate really good food and I got to eat chocoloate cake!! I didn't like my ice cream very much, though. It was really cold. I was exhausted after I ate my cake so I said good night and went to bed. Eli helped mommy put my toys together so when I woke up this morning it was like Christmas (or at least that's what mommy said)! So I've spent all morning playing with daddy showing him my new toys.

Enjoy the pictures!

Labor Day Weekend

Well my first Labor Day Weekend is coming to a close. Boy, did I have fun! It started out on Friday when Tropical Storm Ernesto came through... mommy had a lot of work to do so she took me to day care only to find out it was closed (I told her to call first). So we had to go into her office and get her computer so she could stay home with me. We got really wet and had to drive all over town to find roads that weren't flooded so we could get home. After I played with mommy all morning, daddy came home early to play with me too! Here are some pictures of me getting the toys out of my toy box. There's even one of me walking to mommy! Look, no hands!! Mommy and daddy keep telling me I need to hold onto something, but I'm sure I can walk...I only fall when mommy doesn't catch me.

On Saturday, mommy took me to the Children's Museum in Portsmouth. I had a lot of fun. I learned about bubbles, I got to drive a bus, and go grocery shopping! I even got to play with trains and other little kids my size!

On Sunday, we went to my first shrimp boil at Mr. Mark and Mrs. Nancy's house with all of the people daddy works with. I decided it was time to make friends with everyone as it seems we'll be sticking around here for a while.

That sounds like a fun filled weekend, right? Well, it gets even better. This morning when I woke up from my nap, mommy and daddy scooped me up and put me in the car. I wondered, what the heck?? Where are we going? Little did I know, we were going to the beach!!! I love the beach. I didn't get to play too far in the ocean because there was a red flag up and daddy says that means danger. But I played on the edge and splashed the water. Then I played in the sand with my dump truck. The only thing I didn't like was the shower afterwards. Daddy says it was necessary because I looked like a sugar cookie. Daddy stood under this faucet thingy and pulled a string and water came down over our heads...boy was it cold! He could have warned me, you know?

Well, I'm not sure I can take much more excitement, but mommy did mention going to the park this afternoon to swing....

Some other things I can do now... I'm crusing on the furniture really good. I can even take 2 or 3 steps by myself. I'm a real good eater...I eat anything, even sand! My day care had to ask mommy to bring more food because I was trying to eat the other kids stuff. Daddy swears I'm close to 25 lbs. I go for my 12 month appointment at the end of the month, so we'll see. I'm not fat though...just growing fast! I also like to push my dump truck and I love to read. My favorite books are the ones that teach me numbers and colors. Mommy says counting to me calms me down...she says I'm going to be more mathematical like her. We'll see.

I hope everyone else had as much fun this weekend as I did! Talk to you soon!
